On episode thirteen, season five of Ecoman and the Skeptic, the pontificating profs will parse the issue of population growth and environmental fall-out. Our guest this week will be Dr. Paul Ehrlich, Bing Professor of Population Studies and President of the Center for Conservation Biology at Stanford University, recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship and many honors from environmental and scientific groups. Does a growing population tax the world’s resources? Are humans a threat to biodiversity? Is current consumption excessive? Tune in Dec. 14, 2011 for another exciting episode of Ecoman and the Skeptic, including regular features Green News and the GreenWash Quiz with Professor Rob Fryer. Listeners can email questions to the hosts at ecoman@philau.edu or theskeptic@philau.edu or call in during the broadcast to 1-888-346-9141.

Ecoman and The Skeptic

Wednesday at 12 Noon Pacific Time on VoiceAmerica Variety Channel/Friday 10 AM PT on VoiceAmerica Green Living Channel

Ecoman and the Skeptic will engage, educate and entertain listeners by providing thoughtful, well-reasoned commentary on sustainability topics. Two experts with sometimes radically divergent points of view will offer insights on subjects ranging from the big picture of global warming to reports on new materials for the sustainable built environment. Ecoman represents all things green and sees the world through a pair of chartreuse-colored glasses, while the Skeptic questions everything and uses the power of the dollar to slice intractable Gordian knots. Each week, a different topic on sustainability will be attacked from multiple points of view, supported by interviews with prominent guests who will provide valuable insights. Regular features include news updates, the green-wash quiz and an opportunity for listeners to ask questions and seek advice. Ecoman and the Skeptic airs live Wednesdays at Noon PT on VoiceAmerica Variety. Replay Friday at 10 AM PT on VoiceAmerica Green Living.
